SECTION 3: Communicating Your Purpose IS Vision

Purpose creates vision. Vision produces goals. Goals permit the development of a plan, and a plan allows for an orderly journey.

Purpose requires vision and vision requires goals, priorities, sound decisions, companions, and sound choices. Each of us comes to this earth and chooses how much of our true selves and purpose is manifested based on how we choose to commit to each of the aforementioned.

An answer to the call of purpose requires commitment and discipline with each of the aforementioned. Goals act as measurable tasks on the journey to purpose, prioritization helps to organize and navigate goals, while sound, responsible decisions are a reflection of a principled life that also supports sound choices.

In the next section of this Unit you will be taking a deep dive into drafting your Purpose Statement and your Purpose Presentation. There are key strategies like the S.T. A. R.  that help you to deliver and pitch a clear purpose statement and  communicate your vision to others. In addition to this pitching strategy we have included a video lesson on “The 9 biggest mistakes people make when pitching and presenting” to guide you on the mistakes you do not want to make when presenting.
