SECTION 4: How Do I Fulfill My Dreams?
Dreams take flight when rooted in purpose and fueled by deliberate steps. The journey unfolds when belief transforms into bold action.
Unlocking your potential requires you to have a vision.
We described vision in section 2, yet you may still be wondering ‘how do I determine or visualize my own vision?’ Vision is a product of your thoughts which become ideas which become daydreams, which develops into vision and must be realized as an action plan. The realization of your action plan is the point of fulfillment.
The journey to this point requires self-reflection. Recall what you learned about the 5 Questions of The Human Heart and understanding your purpose. The journey to discover purpose is a journey within. The world around you is not where you uncover the call on your life, rather it is the intricate universe that exists within you.
Charisa Munroe-Wilborn shares a very effective and succinct framework to help us to fulfill our dreams, establish a clear vision and walk with purpose. Like the 5 Questions of the Human-Heart, her 4 part framework challenges us to fulfill our dreams by looking within and asking ourselves important questions that demand sincere answers.
Framework: How do I fulfill my dreams?
To fulfill our dreams we must start by being true to ourselves.
-
Ask yourself is it truly your dream that you are seeking to fulfill? Or is someone else’s dream for you? Or someone else’s dream?
Fulfilling our dreams requires alignment with personal timing and alignment with one’s personal core. For example, seasons and cyclical timing are a fundamental law and principle of this earth realm. This means that all living beings (even objects to a certain degree) are subject to seasons and timing. These seasons and timing are uniquely synced to the being, and the fundamental function and core of that being. Whether this is by design (i.e. pregnancy) or by choice and preference (i.e. personal core values) seasons and timing are deeply intertwined with these elements.
2. Is your dream a priority now? (Could it be a part of the picture later?) Is your dream aligned with your personal core values or business goals/values in this season?
The next question to ask yourself relates to how you experience your dreams/vision. Remember, sight is a function of the eyes, but vision is a function of the heart. This means that vision has an emotional component. That being said, ask yourself
3. What/How do you want to feel when you accomplish this goal? Visualizing and embodying how you want to feel conditions you want to make the decisions, and/or take the steps towards making your vision and dreams more realizable.
This framework is all about the action and actualization, thus the final question is about just that…action.
4. What steps can you take towards achieving this feeling?
This is a practical framework that you should use to fulfill your dreams and unlock your potential.
